i'm the daughter of an argentine, my brother and i had soccer balls in our cribs before we were born.
growing up my grandpa would take my dad and his brother to the pitch on sundays with him. my grandma would listen to the game on the radio, knowing that her sunday afternoon would be dictated by the result of the match. if the home team won she'd have a feast ready and if they lost, she'd dim the lights and have 2 aspirin and a hot tea waiting.
in 2007 i married my fantastic husband, who as it turns out is one of the biggest futbol fans i have ever met. we plan vacations around club leagues, and spend holidays on road trips chasing international friendlies, match days in harrison, nj at red bull arena and weekends glued to foxsports, espn, univision and gol tv.
